Step 1: Introduce Yourself

          Please include the following information:

  • Your first name
  • Your college/university
  • The study abroad or exchange program you’ve joined or been accepted into the languages you speak
Step 2: Answer the Main Question
  • What cultural or language barrier do you think you might face while studying abroad, and how are you preparing for it?
Step 3: Choose and Answer one of the Following Prompts
(Select one from the list below):
  1. Teach us a phrase in your target language and tell us why it matters to you. Make it personal, funny, or heartfelt.
  2. What’s something about your native language you wish more people knew? Explore grammar quirks, cultural idioms, or beautiful sayings.
  3. Take us behind the scenes of how you practice your target language daily. Morning routines, sticky notes, playlists show us what works.
  4. Walk us through your favorite way to practice speaking your target language. Bonus if you mention any tools or apps you love using! 😉 (We love seeing Ling in action!)
  5. What’s one thing you wish more language apps or teachers focused on? Share your honest frustrations or suggestions.
  6. Have you ever felt lost, misunderstood, or out of place while using a different language? What did that experience teach you? A moment of discomfort or growth that shows emotional resilience and reflection.
  7. What do you hope to learn — not just academically — but culturally and personally from studying abroad? This is your chance to share your mindset and personal goals beyond academics.
